Where to find fabrics

I love fabric shopping often spending hours walking the jumbled aisles of little fabric shops, touching every roll; looking for that oh so special fabric......that I absolutely need...... for a garment that has not even been thought of.

Simply Fabric in Brixton, 48 Atlantic Rd, London SW9 8JN

Friendly, informal and bountiful in choice. Great fabric quality and price. They have another shop moments away too!

Sewing and Craft Superstore, 300 Balham High Road, Tooting London, SW17 7AA

This is the store that has everything, fine bridal fabrics, haberdashery, sewing machines and fabrics galore. They offer a 10% discount for students and business which is always handy and is easily located a few minutes walk from Tooting Bec tube station.

John Lewis - Fabric and haberdashery department, Forth Floor

Quality fabrics and central for most shoppers. I like this store and recommend it for specialist fabrics. Their online service is great.

Berwick Street - Central London

Amazing road filled with about 7 shops stocking theatrical, unusual and fancy fabrics. It is worth a trip even just to have a look.
